It’s the holiday season!

Next up is Thanksgiving; a holiday where we get together with friends and family to celebrate what we are thankful for. Our successes, each other, our good fortunes, and our pets.

Part of that celebration is usually a feast with all of the classic Thanksgiving foods. Our tables will be filled with turkey, stuffing, potatoes, cranberry sauce, and a whole lot more. Just as we love to eat these foods, our dogs will be licking their lips hoping for some droppings to munch on.

You do need to be on the lookout, not all of the foods we eat for Thanksgiving are safe for your dog to eat! So here is a brief list of foods Fido shouldn’t get into.

The List

  1. Turkey Skin, Drippings, and Gravies
  2. Turkey Twine
  3. Turkey Bones
  4. Stuffing
  5. Sage
  6. Raisins and Grapes
  7. Onion and Garlic
  8. Nutmeg
  9. Mushrooms
  10. Fat and Fatty Foods
  11. Corn on the Cob
  12. Chocolate
  13. Candied Yams
  14. Butter
  15. Bread Dough
  16. Alcohol
Whew! That’s quite a list. If you still want your dog to partake in the festivities of Thanksgiving but aren’t sure if the food you are making is safe for them have we got news for you!

Here at Bark ‘N’ Town we prepare Dog Safe Thanksgiving Dinners. These meals are cooked in house by our resident chef Brian. They are available as take home meals for you to feed to your pet; or if your dog is staying with us over Thanksgiving their meal can be served to them on Thanksgiving!
